The nicotinic chewing elastic band if will not help to stop to smoke to the pregnant lady but to reduce quantity of cigarettes smoked daily to some pieces can quite help. And it means, that by means of a nicotinic chewing elastic band it is possible to reduce risk of a birth the child with insufficient weight.
The American scientists investigated 194 smoking pregnant women, any way having divided them on two groups, one of which received a nicotinic chewing elastic band, and the second – an elastic band "baby's dummy". Test proceeded six weeks, the chewing elastic band was used under the decreasing scheme. To all women there was a consulting support on refusal of smoking. To the women believing, that it will not be possible to throw smoking, it was offered to try to reduce quantity of cigarettes smoked for a day, replacing them, as required, a chewing elastic band.
As a result, the quantity thrown smoking in both groups was approximately identical. However by means of a nicotinic chewing elastic band the quantity of cigarettes smoked for a day has decreased on the average for 5,7 pieces whereas use of "baby's dummies" has caused reduction only on 3,5 cigarettes in day.
Besides it, babies at the women using a nicotinic elastic band, at a birth weighed much more, than in to group, and were born more close to the put term.
Not looking at positive influence of a nicotinic chewing elastic band for the term of sorts and weight of the baby at a birth, authors of research, nevertheless, object to use by pregnant women of a nicotinic elastic band on a constant basis because in researches of influence of nicotine on animals occurrence of cellular anomalies which can lead to sudden death of the child has been revealed. For this reason use by pregnant women of a nicotinic chewing elastic band and other substances replacing nicotine has not been approved.
